Lake Bunyonyi

The last part of safari will take you for relaxation by beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is a mesmerizing and tranquil lake located in southwestern Uganda, near the town of Kabale. It is often regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in Africa, attracting travelers with its stunning scenery, serene waters, and a myriad of islands scattered throughout its expanse. The name “Bunyonyi” means “place of many little birds” in the local Rukiga language, a fitting description for the abundance of birdlife found around the lake.

Murchison Falls National Park:

Commonly known as the nature wonders of Uganda. This is the starting point of the safari, and it promises exciting wildlife encounters. The combination of a game drive and a boat cruise on the Nile River offers an opportunity to see a wide variety of animals. Such as the iconic African Big Five (lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinoceros).  Meanwhile, the Murchison Falls is where the Nile River squeezes through a narrow gorge and plummets into the Devil’s Cauldron, is a stunning natural spectacle.

Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

The sanctuary is situated approximately 176 kilometers (109 miles) north of the capital city, Kampala, and covers an area of about 7,000 hectares (17,300 acres). It provides a safe and secure environment for the rhinos to thrive and reproduce, as well as promoting education and awareness about rhino conservation.

Kibale Forest National Park

Specifically known for its remarkable chimpanzee population, Kibale Forest allows visitors to go chimpanzee tracking and observe these primates in their natural habitat. It’s an enriching experience to learn about the behavior of these intelligent creatures and witness their interactions. However you will engage in more exciting activities like the Bigodi wetland swamp walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is a fascinating eco-tourism activity located near Kibale Forest National Park in Uganda.  Furthermore, it is a community-based initiative that offers visitors a chance to explore the unique wetland ecosystem of Bigodi and encounter its diverse flora and fauna.

Queen Elizabeth National Park:

This park offers a game drive and a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where visitors can spot a wide array of wildlife and bird species. The diverse landscape for instance crater lakes and the Rwenzori Mountains, adds to the allure of this park.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park:

The highlight of the trip, gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, provides a rare opportunity to get up close with the magnificent mountain gorillas. This experience is often considered one of the most memorable wildlife encounters in the world.

Batwa Community Visit:

The visit to the Batwa community allows travelers to gain insights into their unique way of life and traditions. It’s a chance to appreciate and respect the cultural diversity of Uganda.

Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early break first, you will set off for an 8-9 hour drive to the south western part of the country with a stopover en-route at the Equator for a photo moment and stretching.

You will make another stopover for lunch en-route at Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara and a final stopover at Lake Bunyonyi. This lake is said to be one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda, the second deepest lake in Africa 900 meters deep. The view around Lake Bunyonyi is made up of terraced hills protruding from the water’s edge. Bunyonyi means “place of little birds” and as the name suggests, there is plenty of birdlife around the lake

Day 2: Boat ride and move to Bwindi forest

After an early break first, you will set out for a Boat ride at Lake Bunyonyi this takes 2 hours, the view around the lake is made up of terraced hills protruding from the water’s edge. Bunyonyi means “place of little birds” and as the name suggests, there is plenty of birdlife around the lake for all the birders.

You will be transferred to Bwindi in the afternoon,  While at Bwindi you will head for a nature walk or Batwa cultural meeting you will go through their villages to have an experience of how they go about their daily routine activities and be amazed by the way they skillfully cultivate the hill sides and how they care for their animals (cows) that are a prime source of pride then later return for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi forest and move to Ishasha

After an early break first, you will head to the park base where you will be briefed by the guides before you begin the search in the thick Bwindi forest for the giant gorillas. Bwindi National Park is renowned for its impressive mountain gorillas, although it is not sure for how long you will track before finding them since it all depends on their movement.

Though the time spent to track down these Gorillas is unsure, the thrill of spending time and observing these gentle giant gorillas is a rare moving, awesome and exciting tours that will leave you with long lasting memories of a truly special meeting. 9Days Bwindi Queen Kibale Murchison Falls Tour, Lastly, you’ll return for lunch and then later move to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth meanwhile you will reach late evening for dinner and overnight

Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National

After your break first, you will be taken to Ishasha, known for the tree climbing lions lodging in the tree branches while keeping a close eye on herds of Uganda Kobs, their favorite prey.

In the same way in the afternoon,  you will take a launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga means to see at close range the water animals that include Hippos, Buffaloes, Crocodiles and elephants bathing on the channel banks. There is also a variety of bird types on the water banks mainly the known pelican and Jacana.

Day 5: Depart Bwindi to Kibale National Park

After your breakfast, you will go for a brief morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth then head to the scenic Explosion Craters and Explosion Crater Lakes.

Will have a Lunch Stopover en-route and after move to Kibale National Park, check in at your lodge for some rest, In the evening go for the nature walks at Bigodi swamp for an opportunity to do birding, spot different Beautiful butterfly species and an opportunity to visit the KAFRED women cultural groups activities which are also adventurous and after head overnight and dinner at your Hotel/Lodge

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp walk

After your break first, head to Kibale Forest Uganda Wildlife office for briefing by your expert chimpanzee guide. You will spend about 1 – 2 hrs. or less tracking the chimps’ through different trails that are also used by the chimps which makes it even more adventurous following their foot prints. Upon meeting the chimps, you will spend 1 hr. with the closest relatives to Human Beings yet so intelligent. You will observe how they feed, how they protect themselves and how they setup their nests for the day/Night.

Upon completing of the trekking our Njia Africa Adventure Driver will drive you back to the lodge carrying memories of a lifetime.

Day 7: Transfer to Murchison falls

After your break first, your driver guide will drive you to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon reaching Murchison falls, You will head to the Lodge for check-in Lunch and Relaxation and Overnight.

Day 8: Game drive and Launch cruise in Murchison falls

Early morning breakfast and embark on a 3 hour Morning Game drive to the northern bank of river Nile head for a sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika plateau to see the Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda Kobs, hartebeest and waterbucks, and  bush pig plus large carnivores including lions, leopards and spotted hyenas, crocodiles and hippos will be seen along the banks of the Nile. Some birds will be sported include goliath heron, pelican, kingfishers, hornbill, saddle-bill stork and the rare shoebill stork.

Return back to your lodge for some relaxation and Lunch before setting off for a boat cruise in the afternoon on the placid Victoria Nile, upstream to the base of the falls.

While, the boat will stop just tens meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron” for pictures to be taken of the photogenic and majestic Murchison Falls. Finally, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 9: Rhino tracking in Zziwa Rhino home and return to Entebbe/Kampala

After an early morning break first, Pass via Top of the falls and depart with great memories of the moments spent at Murchison falls. The driver will lead you to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuarry home of the White Rhino.  After a briefing from the ranger, you’ll trek the home for close to two hours. Lastly, move back to Kampala/Entebbe with lunch en-route.
