Day 1: Arrival and Pickup

Upon arrival at the airport ( , you will be welcomed by our company representative who will welcome greet, and transfer you to Bujumbura where your accommodation has been booked for your dinner and staying overnight, take your time to relax as you wait for the following day’s adventures.

Mid Range : Hotel club du lac Tanganyika ( Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, dinner ).

Day 2: Transfer to Rusizi National Park

Have breakfast in the early morning and thereafter take a short drive to Rusizi National Park. You will have an opportunity to view hippos, sitatungas (antelope), and a wide variety of birds attracted to the wetland environment. We will later have lunch and an afternoon relaxation at the lodge premises.

Mid-Range: Hotel safari gate ( Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.).

Day 3: Waterfall Visit – Transfer to visit the Museum

Following a mouth-watering breakfast, you will drive towards the south to pay a visit to be angelic waterfalls of Karera, lunch enroute, and transfer to Gitega to explore the Burundi international museum  it has historical artifacts, and big history of Bujumbura you will learn so much about the cultural aspect of the Burundi people Mid-Range : Hotel club du lac Tanganyika ( Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, dinner ).

Day 4: Bujumbura City Tour

Have breakfast and afterward, you will be taken to see the grave of Prince Louis Rwagasore, a hero of the independence in Burundi. You will then be guided on a climb to the “Belvedere” on the top of the hill, a dominating point of Bujumbura, offering a unique view over Lake Tanganyika. Have lunch thereafter of which you will be driven ten kilometers south to visit “La Pierre de Stanley et Livingstone” the commemorating stone of the place where the famous explorer Stanley uttered the infamous “Dr. Livingstone, I presume” on meeting the legendary Scotsman. After which we will retire from the long day and have a rest at;

Day 5: Transfer to Ruvubu National Park

Following an early morning breakfast, we will drive to Burundi’s largest protected area, which neighbors Nyungwe National Park in Rwanda and is the largest rainforest in Burundi. It has the best hiking opportunities and the most artistic views. Use this opportunity to take in as much as you can because few places in the world have a display of what you will see in one package. Drive back to the hotel for dinner and night.

Day 6: Kibira Forest National Park – Lake Tanganyika

In the morning you will be driven to Kibira Forest National Park for a walk in the forest where you will see different species of birds and monkeys. Have lunch and for the afternoon, you will travel back to Bujumbura and transfer to Lake Tanganyika where you will relax at Saga Beach with entertainment by Burundi Drummers while enjoying a cold drink. a boat tour on Lake Tanganyika can be arranged so that you can enjoy the calm wavy waters with a refreshing breeze. Lucky for swimmers an opportunity for you to swim in the calm lake awaits.

Moderate : Nyimpa hotel ( Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, dinner ).

Day 7:  Bujumbura City Tour and Transfer back to Rwanda for an overnight stay at Mille Collines Hotel.

On this day after you have had your breakfast, you will check out from your Club du lack Tanganyika , do the Bujumbura City Tour, You will thereafter be driven  off from Burundi to Rwanda through Nemba , Bugesera and Spend your overnight at Mille Collines Hotel on Bed and Breakfast  .

Day 8 : Kigali City Tour, Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast early in the morning, you will go for a comprehensive tour of Kigali city with specular visits to the Kigali Memorial Genocide Centre which well exhibits Rwanda’s the history of the genocide. Here you will watch videos, see photographs, and read some written accounts see a number of artifacts as you listen to personal testimonies about the whole incident of the 1994 Rwanda genocide. From here, you will have lunch en route as you get on to reach Volcanoes National Parkthe home of mountain gorillas.

Day 9 : Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

This is the long-awaited day of gorilla trekking on your 7 Days Rwanda Safari. You will wake up very early and right after breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a pre gorilla trekking briefing from the park rangers. The Volcanoes National Park provides the best location for nay gorilla tracker harboring over 400 mountain gorillas (the Gorilla beringei beringei of Africa).  There are 10 habituated gorilla families to trek in the Volcanoes National Park. Unlike Uganda, It is not very challenging to find the gorilla groups in Rwanda. After gorilla tracking, return to your Mountain Gorilla View Lodge and relax on Full board.

Day 10: Golden Monkey Tracking

Following breakfast, you will drive to track the golden monkeys. After the trek, retire for lunch and enjoy a community walk to interact with the residents who may actually entertain you with cultural dances. You may choose to observe the locals brewing local beer from yellow bananas then spend a night at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge on Full board

Day 11 :  Transfer to Nyungwe National Park through  Lake Kivu

Wake up for an early breakfast, drive to Nyungwe Forest National park reaching late in the evening for an overnight stay at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel on Half Board  

Day 12 : Nyungwe Forest Chimpanzee Trekking 

After breakfast in the morning, you will proceed to the park headquarters for the chimpanzee trekking activity in Nyungwe forest. This forest is home to huge chimpanzees troops only comparable to those in Uganda’s Kibale Forest national park. The L’Hoest’s monkeys plus the white Angolan Colobus monkeys do make primate tourism within this forest equivalent to no other in Africa.

After lunch, drive to Nyanza the historical seat of the long-ago kings of Rwanda. Visit this palace and listen to the traditional story-telling done by village elders. Actually, The Intore dancers, who attained reputation in the international cultural expo held in Brussels back in 1958, are currently part of the great Rwanda legends. This warrior’s dance is a gem of the choreographic heritage of this country, adorned with a lion mane completed with sisal fiber plus rings of bells worn in their ankles together with an angelic choir and an exciting rhythm, this is the type of cultural dance which will be organized if you request and spend an overnight at Hotel Le Prince in Butare on Full board.

Day 13 : Transfer Back to Kigali

After having breakfast in the morning, start your journey back to Kigali City with scenic views of the “Land of Thousand Hills” with stopovers photographic moments and community interactions and spend an overnight at Mille Collines Hotel on Bed and Breakfast.

 

 

Day 14:Transfer to Akagera National Park for a Day Game Drive

After a briefing about your tour itinerary and arrangement of the activities, you will embark on the 2,5 hours journey to Akagera national park and picking you from your Hotel will be at 4:30am in the Morning , Rwanda’s only wildlife ,  You will reach in time for lunch after which have an afternoon game drive with beautiful views of wildlife like lions, roan antelopes, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, reedbuck and so much more.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Zürich, Switzerland

We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.

Day 2Zürich–Biel/Bienne–Neuchâtel–Geneva

Enjoy an orientation walk of Zurich’s OLD TOWN, Switzerland’s center of banking and commerce. Then, leave Zurich and start your Swiss adventure. You’ll quickly discover that Switzerland isn’t just home to the Alps, but also to some of the most beautiful lakes. First, stop at the foot of the Jura Mountains in the picturesque town of Biel, known as Bienne by French-speaking Swiss, famous for watch-making, and explore the historical center. Next, enjoy a scenic drive to lakeside Neuchâtel, dominated by the medieval cathedral and castle. Time to stroll along the lake promenade before continuing to stunning Geneva, the second-largest city in Switzerland, with its fantastic lakeside location and breathtaking panoramas of the Alps.

Day 3Enchanting Engelberg

Our morning drive takes us from Swiss lakes to Swiss Army. At the once-secret Swiss army bunker at Fortress Fürigen, we’ll see part of the massive defense system designed to keep Switzerland strong and neutral. Afterward, a short drive into the countryside brings us to the charming Alpine village of Engelberg, our picturesque home for the next two days. We’ll settle into our lodge then head out for an orientation walk. Our stroll through the village will end at the Engelberg Abbey, a Benedictine monastery with its own cheese-making operation. You’ll have free time to wander back before dinner together. Sleep in Engelberg (2 nights). Bus: 1 hr. Walking: light.

Day 4Interlaken Area. Excursion to The Jungfrau Massif

An unforgettable trip to the high Alpine wonderland of ice and snow is the true highlight of a visit to Switzerland. Globus Local Favorite At an amazing 11,332 feet, the JUNGFRAUJOCH is Europe’s highest railway station. Jungfrau’s 13,642-foot summit was first ascended in 1811 and in 1912 the rack railway was opened. There are lots of things to do here: enjoy the ALPINE SENSATION, THE PANORAMA 360° EXPERIENCE, and the ICE PALACE. Also receive your JUNGFRAU PASSPORT as a souvenir to take home with you. The round trip to the “Top of Europe” by MOUNTAIN TRAIN will take most of the day.

Day 5Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water. On our way back we’ll take time to peek into the vineyards surrounding Lutry before returning to Lausanne. Boat: 2 hrs. Bus: 1 hr. Walking: moderate.
