Day 1: Departure to Kigali,

Day 2: Departure to Sunset Hotel in Gitega Burundi with air conditioning

Day 3: Departure  to Kwa Miganda, Karambi Eco-Cultural Heritage

Day 4: Departure to the tea plantations in Teiza

Day 6: Today we leave for the northern lands

Following the east shore of Lake Kivu until we reach the Paradis Malahide hotel

Afternoon excursion around the lake

A visit to Lake Kivu is not complete without the classic sunset boat ride with drinks. A sunset boat ride on Lake Kivu is an unforgettable experience accompanied by wonderful music and incredible scenery. The boat leaves in the late afternoon from Tam Tam Beach and heads to the lake. From the boat, you have a great view of the surrounding Rift Valley and the volcanoes in the Congo. As the sun sets and you enjoy your drink, singing fishermen pass by in canoes as they head to Lake Kivu for a night of fishing. Day 7: Super early departure to Gorilla Guardians Trekking of chimpanzees and culture at the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village.

Embarking on a super early departure for Gorilla Guardians Trekking and exploring the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village involves careful planning. Ensure you have obtained necessary permits for gorilla trekking and adhere to health precautions. Day 8: Visit the Bureba lakes from the Umusozi viewpoint, Kidaho, Lake Mutanda, and overnight at the Gahiza Island Retreat hotel.

Day 9: Trekking of gorillas

On Day 9, the itinerary involves gorilla trekking, offering flexibility between two potential locations: either at the current destination or at Bwindi Guest Lodge. There’s also consideration for the option of conducting gorilla trekking in Bukavu, Congo, provided it is deemed safe. The final decision on the location for gorilla trekking will be made based on the prevailing safety conditions in Bukavu. This adds an element of adaptability to the plan, allowing for a well-informed choice between the current location and an alternative in Congo, ensuring a memorable and secure gorilla trekking experience.

 

Day 10: After leaving our accommodation towards Lake Unyonyi

On Day 10, the journey involves departing from the current accommodation and heading towards Lake Bunyonyi. The route takes you through the lush forests of Bwindi, and upon reaching your destination, you have a choice between staying at Buhoma Lodge Hotel or Bwindi Guest Lodge Hotel. Both options provide a comfortable and scenic setting for your stay, allowing you to unwind and appreciate the natural beauty of the region after a day of travel through the captivating Bwindi forests.

 

Day 11: Visit to the Batwa healer culture, hospital, and free day to rest and disconnect.

The itinerary includes a visit to the Batwa healer culture, where you’ll explore traditional healing practices, followed by a trip to a local hospital to understand the healthcare infrastructure. Afterward, there’s a free day for rest and relaxation. Accommodation during this period is at Guest Lodge, offering a comfortable and tranquil setting. This combination provides a well-rounded experience, incorporating cultural exploration, healthcare insights, and an opportunity for rejuvenation.

 

Day 12: We leave very early to the climbing lions of Ishasha

Next, we move to the Kazinga Channel to take the Mweya Safari Lodge boat. It’s 2:00 p.m. Overnight at the Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge hotel in Katunguru very close to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Mweya Safari Lodge boat leaves at 11, 14, and 16’15 the best time is at 2 pm when the elephants come down to the river to drink. 150 km 4 hours

 

Day 13: This morning we took the route of the salt and culture volcanoes.

The craters of Lake Murumuu, lake Nyamunuka, Crater Drive, and Katwe Salt Lake where we visited the salt mine and also visited the Kikorongo women’s community, monumentand to the Equator. Around 4:00 p.m. departure to Fort Portal. Let’s spend the night at the Silver Oaks Hotel Boma. We take advantage of his washing machine to wash clothes and his kitchen. 125 km Total €125

 

Day 14: Visit the volcanoes and craters of Kibale Park through Uganda Crater Lakes excursions.

The day’s itinerary begins with a morning exploration of the volcanoes and craters of Kibale Park, taking the Uganda Crater Lakes Excursion route. In the afternoon, visit the unique hot springs of Sempaya, which includes the Female Hot Springs and the Male Hot Springs. Observe the fascinating process of boiling eggs in the hot springs. Later in the day, transition to the Silver Oaks Hotel Boma for the night.

 

Day 15:Visit Lake Albert then reach Murchison Falls

On Day 15, your journey includes accessing Lake Albert in the morning. The route takes you through Bugungu, Kigwera, Kimoli, and Paraa, leading to Murchison Falls Bamboo Village. You have the option to choose your accommodation between Gipir and Labongo Safari Lodge Ltd, both offering comfortable amenities. Additionally, the Global Village Resort, with air conditioning, is another viable choice. The total distance to be covered is approximately 359 km, with an estimated travel time of 6 hours. This day provides a scenic route with options for accommodations to suit your preferences and needs.

 

Day 16:  Safari in the morning and cruise and waterfall in the afternoon.

On Day 15, embark on a morning safari in Murchison Falls National Park, followed by an afternoon cruise along the Nile River and a visit to the majestic Murchison Falls. Enjoy the sunset at the waterfall before spending the night at Gipir and Labongo Safari Lodge Ltd. This well-rounded itinerary combines wildlife exploration, a scenic cruise, and the natural beauty of the falls, providing a memorable and diverse experience in the heart of the national park

Day 17: In the morning 4×4 safari and the afternoon departure to the Budongo Eco Lodge

On a given day, your itinerary includes a 4×4 safari in the morning, exploring the wildlife in the designated area. In the afternoon, you will depart for Budongo Eco Lodge, covering a distance of approximately 83 km. This transition allows you to experience both the thrill of a safari adventure and the scenic journey to your next destination at Budongo Eco Lodge.

Day 18: We leave for the Rhino Sanctuary

On Day 18, your itinerary involves departing for the Rhino Sanctuary. This suggests a journey to a sanctuary dedicated to the conservation and protection of rhinoceros. The specific activities and details of the visit would depend on the location and the offerings of the sanctuary. Whether it includes guided tours, wildlife observation, or other conservation-focused activities, it promises an opportunity to appreciate and contribute to the preservation of rhinoceros.

Day 19: Departure

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Zürich, Switzerland

We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.

Day 2Zürich–Biel/Bienne–Neuchâtel–Geneva

Enjoy an orientation walk of Zurich’s OLD TOWN, Switzerland’s center of banking and commerce. Then, leave Zurich and start your Swiss adventure. You’ll quickly discover that Switzerland isn’t just home to the Alps, but also to some of the most beautiful lakes. First, stop at the foot of the Jura Mountains in the picturesque town of Biel, known as Bienne by French-speaking Swiss, famous for watch-making, and explore the historical center. Next, enjoy a scenic drive to lakeside Neuchâtel, dominated by the medieval cathedral and castle. Time to stroll along the lake promenade before continuing to stunning Geneva, the second-largest city in Switzerland, with its fantastic lakeside location and breathtaking panoramas of the Alps.

Day 3Enchanting Engelberg

Our morning drive takes us from Swiss lakes to Swiss Army. At the once-secret Swiss army bunker at Fortress Fürigen, we’ll see part of the massive defense system designed to keep Switzerland strong and neutral. Afterward, a short drive into the countryside brings us to the charming Alpine village of Engelberg, our picturesque home for the next two days. We’ll settle into our lodge then head out for an orientation walk. Our stroll through the village will end at the Engelberg Abbey, a Benedictine monastery with its own cheese-making operation. You’ll have free time to wander back before dinner together. Sleep in Engelberg (2 nights). Bus: 1 hr. Walking: light.

Day 4Interlaken Area. Excursion to The Jungfrau Massif

An unforgettable trip to the high Alpine wonderland of ice and snow is the true highlight of a visit to Switzerland. Globus Local Favorite At an amazing 11,332 feet, the JUNGFRAUJOCH is Europe’s highest railway station. Jungfrau’s 13,642-foot summit was first ascended in 1811 and in 1912 the rack railway was opened. There are lots of things to do here: enjoy the ALPINE SENSATION, THE PANORAMA 360° EXPERIENCE, and the ICE PALACE. Also receive your JUNGFRAU PASSPORT as a souvenir to take home with you. The round trip to the “Top of Europe” by MOUNTAIN TRAIN will take most of the day.

Day 5Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water. On our way back we’ll take time to peek into the vineyards surrounding Lutry before returning to Lausanne. Boat: 2 hrs. Bus: 1 hr. Walking: moderate.
