Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Welcome to Uganda! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala, depending on your preference.

Take the rest of the day to relax and acclimate to Uganda’s climate and culture. You might want to explore the nearby area, enjoy a delicious Ugandan meal, or simply rest and recharge for the adventures ahead.

If time permits, you may also visit nearby attractions such as the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC), where you can learn about Uganda’s diverse wildlife and conservation efforts.

Day 2: Explore Entebbe

Today, after a leisurely breakfast, set out to explore the charming town of Entebbe. Start your day with a visit to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens. These serene gardens are a great place to stroll around and take in the lush greenery, with a variety of plant species including indigenous and exotic trees, shrubs, and flowers. Keep an eye out for the numerous bird species that frequent the gardens, making it a haven for birdwatchers.

Next, head to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC), also known as the Entebbe Zoo. This facility is dedicated to educating the public about Uganda’s wildlife and conservation efforts. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to see a wide range of animals up close, including lions, elephants, giraffes, crocodiles, and various bird species. Day 20: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today is the day you’ve been waiting for—gorilla trekking! After an early breakfast, head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing from your experienced guide. Then, embark on a trek through the dense, mist-covered forests of Bwindi in search of a family of mountain gorillas.

Day 21: Batwa Cultural Experience and Nature Walk

Today, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture and history of the Batwa people, who are indigenous to the forests of Uganda. After breakfast, visit a Batwa community and learn about their traditional way of life.

You’ll have the chance to participate in various cultural activities, such as traditional dancing, storytelling, and basket weaving. You’ll also have the opportunity to go on a guided nature walk through the forest with a Batwa guide, learning about the plants and animals that are important to the Batwa people.

Day 23: Explore Lake Bunyonyi

Today, you’ll have a full day to relax and enjoy the serene beauty of Lake Bunyonyi. Here are some activities you might consider:

Boat Ride: Take a scenic boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi, stopping at various islands along the way. The lake is dotted with 29 islands, each with its own unique features and attractions. Visit the island of Akampene, also known as Punishment Island, which has a dark history but is now a peaceful spot with beautiful views of the lake. You can also visit Bushara Island, known for its picturesque setting and eco-friendly accommodation.

Swimming: Lake Bunyonyi is safe for swimming, and its calm, clear waters are perfect for a refreshing dip. Spend some time swimming, snorkeling, or simply lounging by the lakeshore.

Hiking: Lake Bunyonyi is surrounded by beautiful hills and forests, and there are several hiking trails that you can explore. Take a leisurely hike through the hills, enjoying the stunning views of the lake and the surrounding countryside.

Day 24: Depart Lake Bunyonyi for Igongo Cultural Centre

After breakfast, bid farewell to Lake Bunyonyi and embark on your journey to Mbarara City. The Town is an amazing place to spend the day as you will have an opportunity for a market tour  before finally checking into your accommodation overnight.

Day 25: Cultural exploration at Igongo Cultural center 

Today after your breakfast you’ll have the opportunity to go on a thrilling cultural excursion at Igongo Cultural center. A cultural heritage site Of Ankole Kingdom. The site has a lot of Culture and history that will be shared. You will also have an opportunity to Explore the Ankole  museum stocked with traditional items that are still used today and imitations that one can take away as a souvenir. It also stocks literature about the history represented in the museum as well as titles from other genres.

You can also opt to explore Biharwe Eclipse Monument, located opposite the cultural center, with its imposing appearance like a piece of cultural gold. You can opt to drive up the Hill or dress up into your Hiking clothes to hike the up hill.

Up on completing this amazing cultural experinece we will have a short  1hr drive to Lake Mburo National park overnight.

26. Explore Lake Mburo National Park

After a satisfying breakfast, your Njia driver will lead you off to a Morning Game drive at Lake Mburo National Park, which is Uganda’s smallest park and conveniently close to the capital city, Kampala. Despite its small size, the park is rich in wildlife, making it a rewarding destination for nature lovers looking to see a lot of Zebras.

As we begin our Game Drive at Lake Mburo National Park, be prepared to encounter a variety of animals, including a large number of zebras, impalas, oribis, buffaloes, warthogs, and waterbucks. Additionally, the park is a haven for birdwatchers, as it boasts an impressive diversity of over 332 bird species.

In the afternoon at Lake Mburo, if you still have energy and enthusiasm, you can embark on an afternoon boat cruise along the tranquil waters of the lake. This cruise promises exceptional photo opportunities, allowing you to capture the beauty of the park and its inhabitants.

Day 27: Arrival in Kampala

After breakfast, bid farewell to Lake Mburo National park and embark on your journey to Kampala, the vibrant capital city of Uganda through Masaka. You will have an opportunity to have stopovers at the Equator crossing point.

The drive from Lake Mburo National Park to Kampala takes approximately 5-6 hours, passing through beautiful landscapes and rural communities. Enjoy the scenic drive as you make your way to your next destination.

Upon arrival in Kampala, check into your accommodation and take some time to settle in. Then, get ready to explore the bustling city of Kampala.

Day 28: Explore Kampala

Today, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the sights and sounds of Kampala. Here are some activities you might consider:

Historical Sites: Visit some of Kampala’s historical sites, such as the Kasubi Tombs, the Uganda Museum, and the Uganda National Mosque. These sites offer insight into Uganda’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

Local Markets: Explore Kampala’s vibrant markets, such as the Nakasero Market, where you can shop for fresh produce, crafts, and souvenirs. Don’t forget to sample some of the local street food, such as rolex (a popular Ugandan snack made with chapati and eggs) or samosas.
